The Ruins of The First Academy.
The Ruins of The First Academy.
Short description.
Among the cracked trees and fossilized remnants of animals, towers the gray ruins of The First Academy. Its ornamented windowsills can still be seen, embedded in the heavily damaged brickwork. Once a marvelous building known far and wide for the vast amount of magical knowledge that were kept inside the libraries, it has degenerated to what is no more than a shadow of its former self. Huge holes can be seen in the moss covered wall, while enormous chunks of wood has been ripped from the pagoda-like roof. It is a shame, but rumours has spread through the streets of many cities, that not everything is lost in these crumbling ruins of a once magnificent building. The Scholars from all around the continent, debates eagerly on what caused this place to be left in such a state. The most common explanation is that the realease of the Primordial Magic that was kept in the dungeon, paved a way for the enormous amount of energy to vaporize every soul in the building and leave the structures in a state of decay. The Five Sections.
The gigantic building is divided into five different sections:- The Concrete area. When people, important or not, came from across the world, they were greeted by the Principal in an area that bore no signs of culture or warmth. Trees, bushes, plants and herbs were nowhere to be seen. Some people said that a feeling of doom sprouted from within their body when they drove up along the marble fences, to be greeted in front of the oiled oaken door.
- The Atrium. When stepping through the oaken door, one would assume that you were led to a dark chamber. But no. When the door sprung open, a smell of flowers erupted like an explosion of different aromas. The sight of vines, bushes, trees and different sorts of fruits and vegetables could easily overwhelm the unprepaired. The sun could spread its arms of light through the polished glass ceiling, but today it is merely an empty shell.
- The Upper Floors. On the upper levels the bedrooms, nursing hall, classrooms and libraries can be found. The elaborate wooden ornaments are carved into every piece of this floor. The Principals office can be found on the floor too, but you'll have to know it if you were to find it. Everything on this floor is ruined and destroyed and a smell of death still lingers to this day.
- The Dungeons. In the dungeons a foul smell hung all around. The eerie whimpering of the tortured children who were deemed to be so sensitive to the magical source of nature, were kept down here. Safely hidden away from the other more capable children. In the present days it is more or less just a hole in the ground, filled with water and chunks of ice.
- The Astronomy Towers. Gazing into the midnight sky was a leisure for the most educated of the Lecturers in the academy. Before the disaster, the Astronomy towers were the highest structure of the the north, and was widely regarded for there intricated brickwork. Now, it is broken and lying among the trees in a landscape locked in a freezing cold.
