The Belladonna Bay

The environment.

With the monotone appearance of the Eastern Academy towering to the south, the Belladonna Bay provides the scenary with a serene touch. The vague smell of seasalt and pleasant chirping of the wild birds fills the air with a much needed proof of wildlife. A faint sound of water against rocks can easily lull a person to sleep and provide them with a healing moment in their life. The bay is surrounded by windbeaten cliffs of ivory white chalk and blossoming trees of unknown origins, which give the animals places to live in peace. Before the Academy was build the bay was home to even more wildlife than it currently is. Dozens of now extinct mammals roamed the coast and lived off the fishes in the warm water. After the Academy rose to prominence many of the species fled to safer areas to live.

Flora.

The flora in the bay ranges from small flowers to enormous trees. The flowers emit the most potent poison but only at specific periods of time. Many researchers of the academies conducts their research in the bay because of the interesting plants that grows all over the place.

Fauna.

Wilderbeasts, Juniperbeetles, The Veerian Fox, and the rare Beetboar are some of the animals to be found in the area surrounding the bay. Most of them aren't dangerous towards the humans, but they will defend their cubs and offspring if necessary. There are some researchers who are scared of the effects the war had on these magnificent animals and their attitude towards mankind. There has been cases of aggression where the beasts has devoured innocent tourist.

The War of the Belladonna Bay.

Many of the original inhabitants were forced to escape due to the war that ravaged the areas beautiful places. The Lord of Belladonna Bay were forced to fled across the mainland and he were stripped of his title. The academy became the main source of power in the area and the landscape became far more like concrete. The war erupted due to the unhappiness among the townspeople in the nearby town of Demmilon. A starvation had plagued the land for over a year, and many looked to the Lord of the Belladonna bay to come up with a solution. But he couldn't. This led to a revolt that soon got out of hand. A few of the people sought to help the academy in gaining the power which belonged to the Lord, and before anyone could bat an eye, the power soon laid in the hand of the men of the academy.

I remember it vividly. The bay had once been a safehaven for my family, but that blasted war tore it all apart. The blasted academy is the reason I am unable to return to those sapphire waves...

The inhabitants.

Small fishervillages have risen up over the years and the area now provides the cities on the coast with food and entertainment. The portside is wellknown for their access to the divine island far east, and sailors who claim to have visited the island gladly recites the tales of the place where the Journeyman was born many years ago. Many of the people, living in the area of the Belladonna Bay seems to have inherited the relaxed approach to life, which has been deluted from the people living farther away from the bay. Some may think that it is something to do with the areas almost magical aroma...
