Crimera

Crimera is a dark infection of the very nature of life that bends the earth to the fleshy gore and blood of humans. It spreads slowly over ground and water, turning stone to flesh and water to blood, and twisting innocent creatures into gory monstrosities.

Transmission & Vectors

The slow spread of Crimera comes over the topography of the land, permeating into the ground after it begins affecting the surface. It spreads at varying rates, but usually travels only a few feet over flat ground in a week.

Causes

Although the origin of the Crimera is unknown to most, very few rumors try to shed light on it, or make up their own truth. The most popular belief is that the infection first came about from a meteor that crashed into an uninhabited forest.

Hosts & Carriers

When living beings, usually wildlife, have resided within the Crimera, it takes weeks of constantly living in the environment for it to take hold in living beings. The affected creatures slowly mutate over time into creatures who become, in a way, part of the rest of the Crimera: hungry flesh.

Prevention

Very few methods of preventing or even curing affected areas of Crimera are known. The only working cure known thus far is the dust of a special type of mushroom, known as Hallow, that only grows in sacred areas.
