Sound Stranglers
Sound Stranglers are the plants that are capable of the growth at an amazing speed (half a meter per second) as long as any source of the sound is present around them. They are terrifying in both their speed and the way they kill living beings.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Sound Stranglers are plants growing in the form of vines that create little tendrils for support and climbing. They have long, folded, dark green leaves which have a shape resembling ears of the elves. They don't have any roots. They are covered in oils they secrete that make them sticky, and are very elastic, which makes it hard to escape from their grasp. The color of their stem is close to that of the asphalt.
Genetics and Reproduction
During Flowers, they create light, lilac, singular flowers at the middle part of every tendril.
The presence of the Elements makes it not necessary for them to be pollinated to create the fruits. They produce burs, fruits similar to that of burdock that spread when they move around chasing sounds and when they kill their prey.

Growth Rate & Stages
Sound Stranglers can grow at alarming rates due to some kind of Elements-induced form of sonotropism, a phytohormone-induced movement towards the closest or the loudest sound.
What is interesting, this kind of growth speeds up aging of the older parts of the plant, which makes them shrivel and fall off. This property makes it look like the plant is traveling towards something, keeping the same length at all times, leaving the trail wherever it went.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Sound Stranglers take just the right amount of the nutrients they need to survive from the Elements in the area.
They can photosynthesize just by being exposed to the shine of The Tree.
They also have another way to gain nutrients that gave them their sinister name.
Whenever there is a sound near them, they grow towards it. Often they chase after living beings. If they get close enough to their prey, they move towards the sound of their heartbeat by going inside of them through their mouth and wrapping themselves around their whole body. That's when the tendrils start to drain the nutrients from their prey while it is slowly strangled from inside of their respiratory system.
