"Recruiters" of the Black Sun

Members of the Cult of the Black Sun seem to be split into different groups, each focusing on a different task. There are Seekers of The Black Sun who traverse The Surface, wearing their black and gold robes, not caring about the deadly rays of the sunlight. There are those who decide to guard Temple of The Black Sun, awaiting the day they'll be able to perform a ritual that'll let them summon the Black Sun itself, freeing them from the invisible shackles of The Pit.
And then, there are the ones who specialize in "recruiting" new members of the cult.

How do they work

"Recruiters" seem to show up in completely random places of The Pit. Once they pick their target, they cut it off completely from the outside using Thuribles of Fog, surrounding it with fog full of monsters. Then, they wait for a few days, so the resources and the will of trapped people start to dwindle.
And that is when they create a small corridor in the fog so they can enter and start their work.
The way they convert people tends to vary, sometimes it is persuasion, sometimes torture, but almost always some unknown magical item must be used. Otherwise, there is no explanation why their recruits become zealous followers and never try to run away.

There is nothing to fear, brothers and sisters.
