The Pasteracht (Pastor Acht)
The Pasteracht were the officially sanctioned terrorists of the 4th dynasty of the Resource Management World Government. They were created to provide an artificial pathogen to exercise the Zed Men
The etymology of the odd title given to the group is a little strange and deserves some explanation. It derives from a compound word with germanic and english roots. Paster, although its pronunciation changed rapidly to rhyme with pastor in common use, derives originally from the simple definition "one that pastes", whilst acht simply means eight. "Paster Eight" was originally a symbolic worker in a biochem lab, derided as a joke by some early opponent of the political scheme that created the pasteracht. In its original context, the concept was contemptuous mockery of the idea of a planetary immune system test, as though some arbitrary eighth paster in a laboratory production line could generate challenges for a military force. Through the vagaries of language and mistranslations, a once hostile term came to be adopted as the official name for the group.
Disbandment
Under the 5th dynasty of the Resource Management World Government the Pasteracht were retired from service and exiled to Carillon IV in 2542.
