The Bureau of Economic Affairs
The Bureau Of Economic Affairs was the first great bureaucratic division of the Resource Management World Government, founded in 2147. Since in the broadest possible sense almost any matter of policy can be considered economic, the ambitious leaders of the bureau began to assume power over a wide variety of social organisations on Earth. Their dominance was challenged in 2270 when the Bureau of Xeno Relations was created. The two bureau engaged in a hostile power struggle throughout the life time of the Bubble as they sought to assert their rights and competing policy ideals over contested domains in public and private life.
