Tsuyoshi Ohisa

Tsuyoshi Ohisa

Tsuyoshi Ohisa is the founder of Matexism, a religion based on the values of equality among races and the belief that the duty of protecting the Realm falls to all, just as the 6 stood together against the Kichian at the beginnings of time.   In Tsuyoshi's times, each race was still very much standing apart from each others and conflicts were frequent even amongst the variant sub-species composing the major 6 races. As such, his rhetoric was extremely unusual and at first not entirely well-received. The subtle support of the growing Kingdom of Zodallos did little at first to prevent persecution. However the religion soon found a small but steady band of followers. Though the religion itself still has a small following to this day, its philosophy of equality and open-mindedness spread across the Bridging Lands and have majorly influenced the area's way of thinking, so that the Bridging Lands remain to this day the first region across Ikkaril where cultures and languages are influenced more by geography than they are by race.

Physical Description

Body Features

Tsuyoshi was born to a human father and a vulpaur mother. As a half-aurir, Tsuyoshi inherited his mother's ears and dexterity. Unlike his mother's deep red fur, Tsuyoshi's ears sported black fur that blended perfectly with his black hair. Quite bizarrely, his ear tips were tufted. His amber eyes were slitted, another testament to his mixed origins. Tsuyoshi was tall and lithe, preferring speed and accuracy over brute strength. His skin was the colour of warm terra cotta, or a few shades paler than a sunset over the Dread Ocean.

Apparel & Accessories

Tsuyoshi spent almost his entire life in a training gi. At first, he wore his masters's colours

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Tsuyoshi travelled with his masters Shigeru Daimio and Yasuo Jusake from his homeland of Yugarano. As a young martial adept, Tsuyoshi was to both serve his masters and learn from them as they travelled on their personal journeys to study martial arts from across the world. As he travelled, he learned about various belief systems and an equal variety of martial arts.   He first arrived in the Bridging Lands in 420 and he trains with the soon-to-be-formed Zerviades (meaning Keepers). For 5 years, he trained with and learned from them. He made friends in particular with Alkis and Magia Nicolidis, the children of Alexandros Nicolidis the current head of Zodollos. He then returned to the Watakoshi Isles with his masters. He remained in contact with Alkis and Magia.   Through his teenage years, Tsuyoshi continued to travel, both with his masters and alone. He visited Landden and Hushios. But it's in Esterwilde, deep in the Digheim Mountains, that Tsuyoshi learned the secrets he would base Matexism on.   In 434, Tsuyoshi returned to Zodollos by invitation of the new ruler, Alkis Nicolidis. Tsuyoshi spent 10 years in the employ of his friend during which he took the already fearsome Zerviades to even greater heights of combat prowess. He spent his free times studying the various religions and philosophies local to the Bridging Lands, using the beginnings of what would become, a few centuries later, the Great Library. He returned to Yugarano in 445 and spent just under 2 years in seclusion.   It is said that on 14 Vrublen 447, as the 3 moons rose full, the Creator Gods descended from their realm to meet with Tsuyoshi. They talked through the night and each of the 6 passed down some wisdom to the sage who dutifully wrote everything down in a book that was then sealed by the combined might of the 6. The experience is said to have caused the sage's hair and fur to have turned with overnight, save for a shock of black hair by Tsuyoshi's left temple. Legend has it that the power of the Creator Gods combined with the triple full moon whitened Tsuyoshi's hair with the exception of where he kept his quills behind his ear: his quills leaked ink all over his hair and this was what protected that patch from the moon's powers.    Tsuyoshi later wrote a few more books where he hinted at the knowledge he had supposedly received but never revealed it fully. His books, he took to Zodallos where Magia safeguarded them in the palace's library, all with the exception of the god-locked grimoire. Tsuyoshi spent the rest of his life travelling around the world and spreading the message of the Creator. He eventually returned to Zodallos where he spent the last decade of his life advising his friend.
