The Rocinante

History

Starting life as a freighter type vessel, the ship was selected to be modified. Due to the large payloads, range, and operational performance, the Rocinante was selected to be modified into a makeshift floating command post. Members of the Garlean intelligence wanted to have a vessel that could be deployed rapidly to areas for small scale operations in order to quickly deal with emerging threats or to affect area stability.
Deploying to the Steppes, the original crew was attempting to build support with tribal Xaela while attempting to steer them to increased internal conflict. The resistance cells of Doma contracted the Garden to track down this vessel and deal with it in any manner they saw fit. Eventually the ship was cornered to the site of a Mierqid cache. Unable to complete their pilgrimage, the members of the Garden teamed up with the Xaela to storm the ship and take ship for the Garden.
Once secured, the Rocinante quickly became the center of all Garden operations. Having a home modified for combat, the crew had taken part in several notable aerial combat operations in service to Limsa.

Design

The original craft was selected for its large cargo capacity. With a large open area, the vessel could easily be fitted with modular containers to serve the functions of a dynamic campaign. Facilities such as medical bays, machine shops, armories, and briggs were added to allow for unbridled flexibility. Once on assignment the ship can remain out for months at a time with little logistical support needed.
