The Research Site of Nym

The Island
Based on the historic records uncovered from the journals which the company recovered from the Nymian vessel - Calendula, the Garden located the island housing the ancient Nymian research site. The isle itself rests just off the coast of La Noscea in a fairly remote region. Not much is known about the island other than the fact that it houses jungle covered valleys. The cool streams lining and extending through their reaches often coming to a stop within some glade or spring. Following the central flow, one will arrive at the towering cliff walls. Finding the seemingly handmade opening, carved and shaped out of the stone. Hand carved stairs descended down into the depths of the shrouding formation.
Water Control
Within the caves of an island far off La Noscea is a hidden site. Undisturbed for years the members of the Garden venture in to find ornate statues greeting them along with many water works. A pedestal greets them with some Nymian script. As the party ventures ahead they will descend down the stairs until they reach a massive chamber with a triangle shaped platform. Three pedestals dot each corner. Even without disturbing the site there appears to be water escaping from the center of the structure through relief pipes. Further investigation will be required.
The grand chambers, resting just at the bottom of the winding descent of stairs, would be cast in the pale yet illuminating glow given off by the azure crystals which lined its stalagmite covered ridges. Assaulted at all times by the sounds of flowing water, crashing down from the falls which lined the walls refilling the pools below as the rapid and dangerous currents would seep through cracks and naturally formed tunnels only to exit out into the seas once more. What would catch one's eyes however was the towering structure breaking through the pools below to stand at about 50 falms above its surface. It having been a majestic sight at one point, a marvel of the Nymians engineering. However now it stood as a pale shadow of the past, weathered and cracked bricks lining the triangular structure which waited just at the end of the narrow bridge. Erected on each of the structures three corners would rest a pedestal, their operation connected and linked to the operation of the several gates which lined the walls. The gates serving as locks and the pedestals as a key for the main overflow pipe, keeping water inside of the middle reservoir whilst at the same time giving a way to expunge it into the lakes below.
Through quick thinking and a series of commands which were entered into the pedestals, The Gardens crew were able to successfully divert the flood. And with the sluice gates opening, the waters which had been stored within the structures center for over a thousand years would finally drain back into the pools below. With the water gone however they would all be privy to the rumbling which shook the chamber. Ancient machinery coming to life once more, before a stone dais would finally appear where waters had once rested. Stepping onto it the elevator would allow them access to the deepest reaches of the isles where the vault was believed to lay. At present the water is still drained, allowing for ease of access to the lower floors with the elevator.
The Vault Entrance
At the base of the elevator decent lies a dust covered bridge surrounded by massive crumbling pillars and Illuminated by the pulsing barrier erected upon its very center. Stretching out from the pools below to maintain a vigil at the barriers side would stand two statues, both of them clutching radiant gems within outstretched palms. Through fingers the light would seep into the magicked field enforcing and powering the ancient wall which now blocked the Gardens path. The only part available to them, being that of a round pedestal resting just before the the barriers glow, a key hole adorning its midst. Key in hand A’kata had stepped forward to slide the ancient metal into the socket, however unsurprisingly the incomplete key would do little without the gems which had at one point adorned its surface. Further testing the caverns stability had revealed them to be made out of limestone proving a great deal of sensitive vulnerability, therefore the safer option remained to finish the key.
