Celebration of the New Dawn
End of Frostwane and Beginning of Greenbirth
Two day celebration at the end of Frostwane and the beginning of Greenbirth. The last day of the year and the first day of the year.
The ending of each year is a celebration that all throughout Bennoria look forward to. The last day of Frostwane and the first day of Greenbirth is when the powers of Winter and Spring are in balance.
The exact details of the celebration vary from place to place but the theme remains the same. A representation of Winter, either a statue or person in costume, will have some sort of fading flame, usually a candle that is lit at dawn of the 64th of Frostwane though sometimes a smoldering ember from a brazer or fire that's been burning since Midwinter. Often all other flames have been snuffed before the dawn ceremony so that this flame is the last in the area. At dawn of the first of Greenbirth the last flame of Winter is brought before the representation of Spring and used to light the candle/brazier/bonfire. Once this is done, Winter's candle is blown out and it takes it's leave to allow Spring the responsibility of passing the flame along to those in attendance. Those people then take their flames home to relight their fires with the flame of spring.

Nice article! I like the details with the whole flame ceremony.
Thank you so much. Part of me feels like there's so little here. Maybe I'll add some quotes. Also still looking for more pictures.
