"And as Cash crested the final dune, sand wedging itself into cracked skin, the dark mountains stretching broken peaks high above him; he realized how unlucky he was to be immortal. For to be human is to be marked for dead, and a wrongful pardon can drive a man mad. Torn, blood stained leather-clad legs sank into the scorching grit, a long, flame colored braid trembled as a head was thrown back, and a low strangled scream filled the air as Cash's cry was borne by a dead wind. Echoes disappeared behind the black range, and all was still. Then came the storm. Stretching behind Cash’s upright form, a shifting, growing wall of sand loomed. The ground shook and as the sandstorm enveloped Cash, his mouth still gaping, the grains drilling into his lungs suffocating him; he spread his arms wide and welcomed the darkness. Time was lost to him, and the west wind wafted lazily back over the mountains. It seemed to have traded Cash’s cry for a whisper. The breeze slowly parted the sand and slithered slowly across a sunburnt, sand covered face. It danced a tribal waltz up a hollowed cheek, and finally sank gracefully into an ear canal. No-one but Cash knows the message the wind brought, but a moment later parched lips opened and a booming voice began to recount a history to the sand and the sky and the black mountains and the dead earth."

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Cash is in very good physical shape. He has broad shoulders, his arms covered with corded muscle. He has burns covering a good amount of his body, which coupled with other injuries can cause him extreme pain.

Body Features

Pale skin, smattering of rust colored body hair on his arms, chest, and legs. Right leg is covered in a massive scarification design.

Facial Features

Thin nose, deep-set eyes high cheek bones, full lips, with curved eyebrows, if not for his knotted wound where his left eye was he would be considered strikingly handsome.

Personal history

Cash was born on the island of Farraige to Roisin, a Selkie priestess of Aesis. His father's identity is unknown. At the age of 2 he was found to be "spirit-marked", his left eye golden brown with a blown pupil. At the age of 10, when M'Harr Seamlas was attacked by the Gilders, Roisin hid him in the remnants of the Burned Woods. He was found, days later, by a Flatfoot Merchant by the name of Absalon Mordaunt. Absalon saw his "spirit-mark", recognized the fact that he would be killed for it, and gouged out his eye. Absalon took Cash in as his own son, and Cash took on the family name Mordaunt, becoming Absalon's sole heir.

Starting out as a merchant's apprentice, his road to becoming the assassin he was destined to be was a long, rocky one.

Mental Trauma

Knowing his mother, sister, and brother were either slaughtered or enslaved by the Gilders caused a deep rage to stew inside of Cash. Upon Absalon's death, Cash became violent, his rage manifested and managed in horrible ways.
