Carcharion
Carcharions around the Azure Sea
Carcharions are extremely carnivorous and have been known to eat and devour the other races and creatures of The Azure Sea that have visited their domain. They are a brutal and violent race and are generally left alone by the other races. They are known for being highly territorial and will fight to the death if someone trespasses on their lands and in their homes. Carcharions come from the waters around the Sharkhan Mangroves in the north of The Azure Sea. Rumours persist of an underwater city of sunken tubes and coral called Coaria. Even though Carcharions occasionally live in cities with others, they tend to lead solitary lives, and are shunned by most out of fear. Carcharions have no interest in romance and only take mates to reproduce and once they've reproduced they tend to move on to another city and location. Carcharions are known for their love of the sea with many of them taking sea-faring careers, most usually falling under piracy.Carcharion Names
Carcharion names are normally short and to the point. They do not use names in their own society, so their monikers are usually descriptive and given by others they come across. Examples: Dullfin, Big Tooth, Jaggerjaw, Bloodskin.Subraces
The following subraces are all available as playable races, and any Carcharion PC must pick one of these.Carcharion
Bite. Your jaws are a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. Bloodied Fury. If you make an attack against a target without their full hit points, and you can smell their blood , you can unleash a fury from the scent. This allows you to add an additional 1d10 to any melee attack's damage. After you use your bloodied fury, you can't use it again until you complete a long rest. Darkvision. Accustomed to the depths of the ocean, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as it if were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey. Natural Predator. If a creature or target attacks you, you can use a reaction and attack back with your Bite. You can do this a number of times equal to your Proficiency Modifier, and then cannot use it again until you complete a long rest. Slippery Skin.
