Arrival of the Zanarid Vanguard

Arriving from across the Sunarian Sea, roughly thirty thousand nomadic horse warriors sweep into Sunar and defeat the empire's armies in a a single decisive engagement, known as the Battle of Emamak.   Going on to overwhelm the poorly defended western cities of the empire, the raiders quickly advance on Sunas and sack it, before seizing control over the Sun Delta.

Known as the Zanarids, the strange riders of the west, annihilated the power of the Drumidians in quick rhythm. Moving fast and without mercy, much of the empire was brought to ruin in their invasion which was quickly proven to be purely the vanguard.   The following year, another hundred thousand Zanarids flooded westwards under the command of the Zanarid Kazar, their god ruler.   Unable to mount any serious resistance, whatever remained of the imperial army in the delta, quickly attempted to flee south towards Phernac, but it was caught by the main Zanarid host, and slaughtered to the last man. Left with no army, Emperor Rakh I, fled the capital of Phernac for Tome, in the distant and remote south.
