The Desan Plate

The Desan Plate is the earliest known case of writing in the world. Originating from the ancient Sunarian city of Old Desa, the plate, is in reality a tablet, with archaic glyphs carved into it recording the completion of the city's walls.   Despite being considered one of the greatest artifacts to exist in human history, the Desan Plate was likely a standard article of record keeping during the era of its production, holding no particular significance to its creator. This is indicated in the lackluster styling of the actual message being relayed, and the fact that it was actually discovered submerged and forgotten in an old, irrigation drainage tunnel outside the ruins of Old Desa.

Significance

The Desan Plate is considered by many to be the most important artifact known to mankind. Displaying the first proven writing found anywhere in the world, the tablet records the completion of Old Desa's walls, with its date being used as the year zero for the Valonic Calander.
