Bonecraft of Ancient Behemoths

Set upon the wall above the fireplace sits a myth made physical. A fine blade of ivory, a masterwork to behold. It is the living proof of creatures beyond the comprehension of any living today. Ones as large or greater than buildings. For many they were thought to be flyers and through careful analysis of the bone structures and comparisons to birds living today, this is the best explanation given. Others find it impossible to believe something so large could possibly fly, "they must be creatures of the sea or land" some say. Regardless, they are a thing of great beauty and reflect any combination of wealth, status, or sheer luck to have one in your possession.

The Stuff of Legend

Sky Behemoth bones are a historical marvel of nature. As such, they are treated with only the utmost respect and care. The bones themselves are light and highly durable. If the tales are true, then they would've had to survive the endless weathering from a turbulent sky. The toughness varies from piece to piece and no set explanation has been discovered as to why. Some suggest it depended upon where the bones fell and were buried. Others guess that the age of the piece contributes.

Masterworks of Craftsmanship

Most brittle sections of bone are used as works of art, reminders of a time of wonder. The rare intact and tough bone have been fashioned into weapons. Many, only for ceremonial use as the process to craft the piece into a blade often leaves it rather fragile. It is then, only by half a miracle that a usable blade is fashioned from these bones, and what a weapon those are. Each one is an artifact in its own right, a masterwork of only the greatest of artisans. They are incredibly light and keep their sharp edge practically forever. In a deft hand, these are weapons of immense power. Weapons fit for someone as equally skilled as the creator.
