The Tribebuilder Inauguration

Bestowing the Highest Honor

In the Arengold Forest, the Tribebuilder ceremony is vastly different from tribe to tribe. One might celebrate by raining art on them from hut-top. Another might hold a talent show for them. Yet another might simply take them on a hunt.

What generally hasn't changed, however, is the ritual that solidifies a Tribebuilder in the eyes of the five gods of the Arengold Forest. A ritual initially invented by Filli, the Tribebuilder Inauguration is a tiring, three-day event.

On the first day, the Tribebuilder must make a meal for their tribe. They are allowed to have help, but the meal must be enough to satiate their dinnertime appetite. The recipe must also be theirs. The meal does not need to be a masterpiece, but must be made from the heart.

On the second day, the Tribebuilder must put on a performance of their talent. This can be painting or crafting while on stage, or putting on a show.

On the third day, the Tribebuilder must show their knowledge of their tribe with a quiz. This quiz must be five questions long and go over the major elements of the tribe. They should be personally relevant to the Builder, but specifically not about any event that they directly caused. This should be a difficult quiz that shows how much attention the Tribebuilder pays to the day-to-day lives of the tribe they helped craft.

Once the ritual is completed, the tribe's elders decide whether or not the prospective Tribebuilder has passed. If they have, then they are given a magical aura that all Tribebuilders share. This aura radiates authority and triumph, though very mildly. It is up to the Tribebuilder to empower their aura to a point where others recognize and respect it. Their aura can be empowered through acts of leadership, such as becoming a tribe elder.

Past Tribebuilders

At the beginning of the Elves' creation, Filli would brand Tribebuilders with her insignia on their hands. These ancient Tribebuilders would be worshipped almost as gods themselves.

Over time, many would become Tribebuilders just for the brand. After 100 cycles of branding, Filli decided to stop the practice to incentivize working towards this goal for the sake of bettering a tribe.
