Filli's Test
One day, from their celestial throne, Jörreg – god of the skies – watched as his daughter, Filli – goddess of creation, constructed something on the Arengold Tree.
"My daughter, what have you given to these creatures? Another boon?"
"In a way, father. I am growing tired of these people, these animals... They all pick on us, their creators."
"It is only natural for them to test us, Filli. They have the willpower to make their own decisions. We must simply follow their will and make good decisions to craft our world with their aid."
"No, father, that is not enough for me. I've brought them to life. This time, I will ensure they understand I am no mere girl that may construct their dreams."
"As you wish, my daughter. May I see what you have constructed?"
The goddess nodded, her eyes twinkling with crafty wiles. In her hands, a single, gorgeous red flower appeared. As she placed it in the sun, the red petals slowly turned to black, and the flower wilted slightly.
"Filli, this is... Gorgeous. What test will it provide?"
"Father, I plan on doing many things with it. First, I shall make it grow in two places; the highest branches and underneath the Southern Gnarls."
"The Southern Gnarls? Where the jungle creatures nest? And the highest branch is no simple task to reach."
"Correct. They would have to risk their lives to reach this."
"And what will stop the Strix from flying up to claim it, or a wild animal from consuming it?"
Filli's eyes gleamed with malice, the only time any of the gods have seen any anger or negative emotion in the goddess. Jörreg trembled.
"Father, this flower contains a deadly poison. It coats the stem and the petals; it's why the petals die in the sunlight, you see. The flower kills itself, and then revives in the night."
"Oh! Can they pick it at night to gain it's healing qualities?"
"No, father. No they cannot."
Jörreg, dumbstruck, scratches his head. "So, why might they wish to collect it?"
"They won't. They will learn that some things are beyond their understanding, beyond their willpower or ownership. I shall finally own something on my Canvas, after 1500 years of watching those Elves greedily gobble everything I make."
The god of the skies scratch his chin. "As you wish, Filli... Though, this will not earn you the trust of your worshippers. Your children."
"I care not. This is the first time I will ever harm them purposefully. And, with luck, this shall be the only lesson they need."
And, with a gesture, Filli spread her Test across the tops of the branches and the gnarls of the roots. Soon, the animals learned that this new plant, which was so vibrant compared to the grasses around the roots, was not to be trifled with. It was ignored by all but the most poisonous animals, who could consume it to gain minor sustenence.

Unfortunately, Filli's test would one day backfire. Around 2914, the warmonger elf Filsoul would learn how to collect the flowers and poison their arrows with it. They would use it to mark their enemies for death.
Filli, her hand forced, created a flower – Filli's Solution – to counteract the test. Once again, the Goddess could not seem to get her children to listen. And her temper was growing.Basic Information
