Ïllume's Mercy

The following is written on a plaque outside of a small building in most tribes of the Roots and the Midtrunk of the Arengold Tree. The plaque hangs underneath a stained glass window, blown using magic and forges, depicting a basic, completely white sun.
Have you tired of the world treating you poorly?
Find yourself desperate for the world's mercy?
The Arengold Tree is vast and unkind.
But that does not mean purity is impossible to find.
The Love of Ïllume transcends ideals and law.
With his mercy, the cold heart of the Forest shall thaw.
Our goals are simple; give the world a helping hand.
With love and care, your life we understand.
So, are you tired, hopeless, gone beyond compare?
Allow us to aid you. Ïllume's Mercy will answer your prayer.

Ïllume's Mercy

Started early in 2985, this group is one of the largest Paladin organizations ever developed on the Arengold Tree. They are dedicated to selflessness and purity, to the point of foolhardiness, and offer protective services and prayers alike for free. They attract many who are desperate to avoid crime or oppression, a danger still quite prevalent in the Arengold Forest.
While the organization is neutral on paper, they tend to favor higher class tribes and placements. They rely much on metals to support their order, pay the fees of their clients, and create vast monuments and relics for their prayers to Ïllume. This means many communities that would appreciate the grace of the organization struggle to find churches nearby.
As of 3000, this organization of Paladins have proven to be extremely efficient. They quickly quelled a Necromancy scourge near the Southern Gnarls, and defended a small Ratfolk hovel from an encroaching Orc army. These successes have earned them their self-proclaimed reputation, which many Paladins accept with pride.
The leader of the organization, Vileboar Liontusk, is a Werelion. She feels there is something to prove with her organization, and pushes them to higher and higher heights. While many Elves and Dwarves in the Mercy beg her to slow down, they continue to spread their web of influence outwards, stifling traditional leadership of smaller communities in their generous crusade.
