The legend of the first Human Demon

Nothing will last forever, and the creature called the Human Demon will return.

Written by Meevee

Once upon a time, several centuries back, a battle between Demons and hunters had taken place in the land of the Demons and their hunters. One of the hunters, Cornelius Torchbearer, broke one of the rules of the Code by escaping the fight. He was surrounded by Tauri demons, big black demons resembling spiders with big claws, from all sides and death for him was almost inevitable. Under the Code, a demonologist must not leave the fight under any circumstances.    Cornelius used the Rune force to draw a Rune of protection into the bloodstained sand. The Rune force transferred him far enough from the battlefield, but Azachiel III., the King of Demonologists and creator of the Code, has eyes everywhere. Cornelius was summoned to court at the mansion where the highest Demonologists, headed by Azachiel, met to decide on punishment for breach of the Code. Thanks to Cornelius's escape, the hunters lost the battle with the Demons and they lost control of Malza'Thaar by the so-called Desert of Hope  The court sentenced Cornelius to death by execution. Cornelius's mind was dominated by cowardice, he used all his remaining power and relocated himself. He had no time to plan and imagine a place to move and the first thing to do he thought, so was the battlefield where the fateful battle had taken place. Cornelius, exhausted, lay on the muddy ground of the battlefield in Malza’Thaar.    There were only carnivorous ravens around the dead bodies of fallen hunters and demons. It was just a matter of time, before they noticed lying Cornelius. He grabbed the destroyed hunter's sword of Real silver and stabbed the first raven at his lying body. The raven fell to the ground, and an unusually large amount of raven blood flowed from the stab wound. Other ravens infected the so-called Demonic Plague Cornelius could no longer stop and died. Several days passed, the ravens already with their strong and sharp beaks they ripped all the meat from Cornelius's body, leaving only a skeleton but a pool the raven blood from the pierced raven was still fresh.    It did not dry out even in direct desert sunlight. Until one night, under the glow of a Bloody moon, the pool of blood had grown larger and get completely black. The night of the Bloody moon is only once every 12 years and only in one random area from The Another Realm. One of the Demonologists, he was while on patrol, he had seen a large raven-like demon comes out of the pool of blood. But for the demon, he was too quiet, small, and obviously smart. A bloody puddle creature took one of the weapons still in the mud after the battle and went towards the demonologist. It stared looking straight into his eyes, as if it had known for a long time that the hunter was watching it.   The confused and frightened domologist just stared blankly at the strange, bloody, feathered thing. The creature first watched the surroundings and waited for the reaction and action of the demonologist. After a tense moment, the creature leaned back quickly and unexpectedly, and there were sounds like bone cracking. He lost all his black feathers and revealed his perfectly dark black skin. His eyes were also completely dark black. When he straightened up again, he disappeared as quickly as a blink of an eye. The demonologist was very confused. He looked around for a black creature in the shadows.    He could only hear strange noises around him, sounds like ravens, demons and whispers in one. The sounds were silent. The demonologist ran to report to Azachiel. Suddenly, he fell to the ground with unbearable pain. His fingers and nails turned into claws, his hair into feathers, his body grew by half. He screamed and writhed in pain. His scream turned into a demon roar, and, like the puddle creature, his skin and eyes turned black. He heard the sounds again. He realized it wasn't around him, but in his head.   The creature stood before him, appearing in the blink of an eye as it had disappeared. The demonologist further transformed into a special demon raven. Human flesh fell from his body, leaving only a partially feathered skeleton in the shape of a gigantic raven. The creature jumped on the raven bone demon and took off to the treetops. Just as they were flying over Dallandum, the all-seeing Azachiel noticed them. He roused troops, hunters, demonologists, magicians and moved to Dalladum. He thought it was some kind of necromancer who wanted to hit the City. It was worse. The raven creature descended to the ground, watching Azachiel. No one knew if there would be a battle. The creature tilted its head sideways and opened its mouth. It tried to communicate. One of the mages in the front line scared and fired a beam of Pure light on the creature. That was a mistake.    The creature did not attack. It stood and stared into the ground, his blood red sparks around his hands. He looked up at Azachiel, tilted his head back, and spilled on a pool of blood soaking up the soil. They all looked and wondered what had happened. The earth began to crack, opening, and a horde of Tauri demons began to climb to the surface. There were over a few hundred, more aggressive than ever. Azachiel and the army fought. They fought quite a long time and suffered many injuries and losses. There was a Bloody moon in the sky, which was now under the clouds. A pile of blood began to pour out of the hole in the ground. A creature emerged from the blood. It roared and sucked life energy from the Tauri demons. He defeated them in moments, and his strength grew. The Tauri demons were dead.    The creature hovered toward the wounded Azachiel. It shook his hand and drew him inside. In that moment, the creature became more human and could change forms, between human and demon. It began to communicate through Azachiel's soul. It was on both sides, good or bad. It wanted to fight for demons as well as hunters. But the hunters feared that if a creature wanted it, it would destroy them. With the help of the mages and the Runes, they sent a creature to The Devil's realm. Nothing will last forever, and the creature called the Human Demon will return. It will come back when the next full moon is bloody and will wage war that will help and destroy both sides.   Long live the Human Demon!       #WorldEmber2019 For WorldAnvil - WorldEmber 2019 - Myth/Legend Meevee; Matěj Špelina; 19 years old; Czech republic
