Soul Spire Theorem

"The Soul Spire, a place filled with and surrounded by mystery. A dark, will drive you insane if you stay to long, mystery. Discovering it's secrets, it's true origins, was my life purpose. And yet, I will take my final breath with it unsolved. I hope that someone will see my work through." ~An unknown Scholar, nearing the end of their life.
"The Soul Spire is a place of darkness. When you approach it and enter the fog, you begin to hear disembodied voices screaming for help. The longer you stay, the louder the voices become. One must be careful in the fog, for your voice may join the others." ~Words of an unknown hermit.
The Soul Spire Theorems describe the most logical/explained parts of various myths and legends told about the Soul Spire and is the most widely told myth story.   While the origins are actually unknown, the Soul Spire is widely believed to originate from an ancient war long before the present day races, even believed to exist before the Dwarves, who are known to be among the three Elder Races, along side the Avariel and Giants.   According those who have traveled there and survived, when one goes to the Soul Spire, or even within the fog that surrounds it, voices can be heard echoing in the area, begging for help or warning them and telling them to turn back before it's to late. Sightings of mutated beasts have been reported.
"With current facts, and taking into account of rumors and reports from those who claim to have been inside the fog, I believe the Soul Spire is a gateway to a plane of existence in the Netherworld. And that it was built by an ancient race, that is now extinct, called the Dark Ones." -A mage theorizing about the potential origins.
Despite the expertise/opinion of a few mages, many scholars disagree with them. They agree on the ancient race of the Dark Ones, and that a war happened, but theorize that it was a site of a mass genocide of the Dark Ones during the ancient war, leaving the souls to haunt the site for eternity, instead of leading to the Netherworld.   Both sides of the Theorem, however, agree that if one were to stay long enough, their souls would be lost forever, joining the disembodied voices screaming for eternity.
