Keeper of the peace

Don't look at us like that! We're not the bad guys, we're trying to prevent the bad guys from attacking you! I mean, sure, some of us have abused our powers, and hold those prejudices we're against within them, but I sure as hell don't, which is why I completely ignore what my colleagues are doing!

Keeper's of the peace are people who are employed to make sure that the population of the galaxy is kept safe. They are given training on how to diffuse situations and to help those who have disrupted the peace, for example murderers, rapists, and those committing hate crimes based on species, the colour of their skin, their sexual orientation, their gender identity and biological sex assigned at birth (and its relation to their gender identity), their planet of origin, their abilities, or disabilities, more often, etc.
There have been a few problems raised about the way these Keepers of the Peace carry out their jobs. Whilst they are supposed to be against any of the above-mentioned crimes, there have been multiple occasions where keepers of the peace have carried out these crimes, including crimes which are motivated by hatred.
As such, despite Keepers of the Peace supposedly keeping the peace, are often not trusted by anyone.
