[Note: the following is outdated, but I'm working on it.] The water runs pink in Rose Lake. “Follow the way the river flows,” Violetta’s father would say, “It’ll lead you to your destiny.” She’d always thought it was nothing more than superstition. And yet, as she wanders by the riverside on a spring afternoon, she chances upon a girl. Not only is this girl charming and beautiful, but her name is Rosa. This couldn’t be coincidence. She soon falls in love, but just as swiftly discovers that all is not well behind the scenes. Rosa’s father is an abusive man, and the toll it takes on her is plain to see. There’s not a doubt in her mind—Rosa needs to get away. Fate seems to have other plans, however, and the ramifications of what follows can never be undone. If Violetta had known what she’d do when faced with that which she despises most, maybe things would have been different. Maybe she’s glad they weren’t.
