Personal history

There was a Yolkadras: babysitting bodyguards who was assigned to take care of a noble child. She had a kid with the older brother of the child she was assigned to and that kid was Hinro.

To cover this up a pretense was put up of him having been found on the doorstep and simply taken in to be raised as a servant and possibly guard, soldier or even Yolkadra.

When being trained in combat he took a large interest in battle tactics and, when it was found that he had a brilliant understanding of warfare by Prince Alesso, he was immediately snatched up to work for the royals instead of the nobles.

He was assigned as the assistant of Prince Alesso, in other words he made all the tactics and Alesso got all the credit, launching Hunter's Invasions (intended to seize large amounts of a resource and then leave, usually the bodyparts of or live samples of foreign wildlife or items in ancient ruins) into the Black Forest.

These were largely unsuccessful because of just how much steroids and nightmare fuel the wildlife outside of Lamara is on, as well as the nightmare that is getting anything out of the ancient ruins without losing half your soldiers, but had a higher rate of success than with other generals.

Alfrig, the King of Lamara, declared war on the Hami in the Black Forest in the hopes of subjugating them to make them provide materials from the Black Forest to Lamara rather than having to send in soldiers to get these things who were often attacked and robbed immediately after by Hami and Branch People.

This went terribly because the Hami have horse archery (but they're on Hamikos which is even worse), no central leaders, guerrilla warfare, tunnels oh and the land they live in basically has Australian wildlife on steroids and nightmare fuel.

Alessi, his oldest legitimate child and heir, became the new Queen of Lamara (the term Lamarans use is more like "Monarch", not differentiating by gender, but we're keeping things simple here) and immediately decided this war was a massive waste of resources and worst of all was only making the Hami more dangerous by providing them with weapons and more knowledge about how best to fight Lamaran soldiers.

Hinro disagreed and immediately got his army, who followed him instead of the prince, to sack countless towns and rob people on highways to get money for equipment, rations and soldier's pay to continue the war in the Black Forest.

He was cornered and went into the Black Forest, never to return. Very few of his soldiers returned either. They ended up fighting the Hoga, horrific humanoid creatures that inhabit the Black Forest and get homicidal from time to time, more than the Hami as the Hoga seemingly decided they were going to attack both Lamarans and Hami in their forest, forcing the survivors of Hinro's forces after his death and the Hami to work together to survive until the Hoga seemingly just decided they weren't feeling homicidal anymore.
