Early Gobbet-hood

In the first century of humans in the Aerth everyone wanted a try at being a Magna. Everyone saw what the true Magnas could do and wanted to try their hand at it, so to speak.   Unfortunately not everyone is Magna material, a reason why Magnaship is passed down through family lines. Only a few have the necessary "something" the Gobbets need.   These hopeful individuals without Magna in their blood ended badly.

Utility

It was intended to allow everyone a chance at Gobbet manipulation and random glories. Instead it allowed everyone a chance to break arms and sever limbs.

Manufacturing

  1. Gather a Gobbet, or two, or three if you can.
  2. Carry it, in a stone container, to your desk.
  3. Gather the rest of your ingredients for the experiment
  4. Introduce the new substances to the Gobbet Light
  5. Duck and Cover
Access & Availability
This was a widely available substance. Anyone could get ahold of a Gobbet. They bobbed and danced about the night sky without the faintest idea that the humans beneath them plotted to capture and eat each one.   At the beginning there was at least one instance of Gobbet experiment in every family. Many folk died, or mistakenly morphed their families because of this. The human race was quickly dwindling in the Aerth.
Complexity
Very complex. Perhaps it was too complex and that is why it never caught hold, or was never figured out in the first place. Although to watch the Magna's you would never know it. Without trying they seem to draw the Gobbets to their sides. Without bother they ingest the things. Even without stress they raise mountains and gush floods! Why was it so difficult for everyday humans?
Discovery
Everyone could see the Gobbets jaunting about the sky at night. Everyone could find them. Everyone could attempt to use them.   Many tried. Many failed.
