Inheritors of Divinity

It is well documented that the way the Well works is by receiving the souls of the departed. In turn, it takes these souls and breaks them down into their core elements of motivations, emotions, character traits and all the things that make a person unique. When a newborn is delivered, the Well gifts upon them a soul pulled from its depths which is supposed to be a thing entirely unique and known to them.
Since the Accord, a reincarnation phenomena known as "Inheritance" has been on the rise. It seems with the magic of the Accord in place, the Well is not entirely able to function and Souls are not properly being returned. Instead, cases of individuals being born with memories that are not their own or powers that should not possess is on the rise. The working theory is that strong individuals, upon death, are not returning to their individual elements but being reborn with large portions of their soul "intact" from their previous incarnation. This is especially true of Divine souls, as it would make sense that the souls belonging to the Lords of Thunder would remain largely intact in this flawed performance of the Well. Great Heroes are often reborn, and it is thought that they possess Divinity. The University calls these individuals "Inheritors."

It is suggested that Kohn Peacehand and Alessia the Wanderer died outside of the Accord, and their souls are not in the Well that is trapped within the Accordlands. Oddly, Alhana Ersane the Whisperer has also never manifested in another person.
The savviest of academics realize that Lunar and Twilight of the Lords of the Silverlight also died during the battle of the Accord and are likely sources of Inheritance.
