Water Genasi

Biology

Water Genasi are a wonderful mix of flesh, blood, water, and biomatter similar to that of seaweeds. For the most part, their bodies are built in a similar fashion to a human or elfs, The biomatter which is affectionately called "blubber" by most water genasi, covers their entire bodies just under the skin about half and inch to an inch in thickness practically everyone. On thinner areas, such as the fingers or toes, the "blubber" is only a centimeter thick and extends out into a thin yet sturdy webbing. The Biomatter is exceptionally dense in water which seeps out of a genasis pours under pressure, leaving them damp and most of the time.

Anatomy

Like all other Genasi, the water variant are humanoid in build. Thye tend to be taller with broad shoulders and a rectanglusar or even triangular build. Their arms are often defines, with long hands and feet, almost shaped like flippers.

Gills

As with most other water based creatures, the Water Genasi has a set of rudimentary gills. They don't work to competely pull all oxygen from water and survive under water for an undetermined amount of time, but thye do provide an advantage to holding their breath for long periods of time. in dire circumbstances, short term water breathing is possible, but with some side effects such as a headache or a rough transition back to breathing the air.

Webbing

Between every finger, toe, and coming of some ears is a thin membrain they call webbing. This is a translucent piece of seaweed-like biomatter that aids in swimming, much like fins on a fish.

Double Jointed

In certain joints, like their knees, shoulders, and ankles, they are naturally double jointed, this allows them better mobility for swimming. this gives them increased speed and dexterity as well in the water, making them coveted swimmers.

Facial Features

Water Genasi tend to have strong yet diminished features with a wide variety of variation. Their facial structure tends to be long and round with a storng forehead and full cheeks. following the same trend of strength, their eyebrows are usually thick but curved, framing their wide, round eyes very well. Water genasi tend to have loing, thick eyelashes, as well as a smaller, flatter nose. their lips are normally on the thinner side, but wide and flexible.   Unlike their broad shoulders, they tend to have slimmer necks. Their ears have a good bit of variation, being either short and rounded with some webbing or long and pointed like an elf's. in either case, they are positionted to help cut through water at high speeds.

Hair

Their hair tends to be thick and curled, laying in clumps around thier head. it mostly stays damp and pulled back with braids or ornimental pieces.

Coloring

Water genasi tend to stick in the blues and greens. their skin is usually a desaturated light blue or teal, with a lot of variation in the under tones. Their hair and eye color are similar, in ranges of dark, sea blue, to white, to even a carribean sea green
