Heart of the Map

The Heart of the Map is a large ruby placed at the center of The Map. This gem is what powers the Map, giving it its life and ability to function the way it does. The Ruby is used as a power source, its natural energies being just strong enough to power the whole thing but not so strong that it destroys its delicate nature. 

The Stone was there long before Mapkeep was made, and hopefully will never be removed. This Ruby is directly connected to The Underground and the strange gems that light its many caves.
