Finding Serenity: Ironsworn Adventure
A team of mercenaries has been brought together by one of the secretive crime lords in the Outer Worlds, rising in the ranks of an emerging band called the Rim Rangers, Mr Daniel Jett. Their mission is to steal a Firefly class transport ship known as Serenity. They are told that the ship was last reported en route to Beaumonde in the Kalidasa System. Basic transport is provided to the team, and they head off to accomplish their task. Serenity is headed for New Huntsville for a bounty-style delivery of rare ingredients for the Earth-That-Was Distillery. Her crew recently got on Jett's bad side when they abandoned their contract to steal resources from a starving community. Jett's compensation is Serenity, and the mercenaries will be his method of collection. Little do they know, Jett knows that two can keep a secret if one of them is dead. Anyone on the team who hasn't sworn to Jett's cause will be executed to tie up loose ends...
Plot points/Scenes
The mercenaries will arrive in the Kalidasa system and have to track Serenity. They may be able to catch up with her before reaching Beaumonde, or they will try to get to her after landing in New Huntsville.
If Serenity lands in New Huntsville, Mal, Zoe, Jayne, and Inara will leave the ship with the cargo and leave Simon, River, Book, Kaylee and Wash aboard the ship to wait.
The crew of Serenity are using the shipment to Earth-That-Was in order to acquire funds to either appease Jett's anger or buy a means of fending him off. For the very few that have dealt with Jett in the past and lived, Jett is notorious for being extremely selfish and ruthless. Only those who swear themselves to his cause will last long after an encounter with him.
The rest is up to how the players handle the situation. They may succeed in capturing Serenity and returning it to Jett. They may have a showdown with Serenity's crew. They may decide that they want to keep Serenity for themselves, or join Serenity's crew.
