She's trying so hard to fit in, to make the best of the place that she's been raised to, but at the same time she's finding a lot of little clues in the system. Which means that she is seeing these things on a regular basis, which makes me think she might be the Zarichler. She wants to keep things steady and help Cor adjust, but there's something out there that nags her in what she sees within the Dome itself.
She was originally trained in dome maintenance when she was an Orphan.
Adoptive siblings are Maralana Helery and Jathniel Thewarin.
Got her last name from the family she was meant to replace (but since they're all dead, she's been assigned to have other parents simply because they don't want her raised on her own.)
Step 1, Level A: A bright young orphan newly selected as a potential Zarichler.
Level B (bright): Didn't score all that highly on all but a few of the testing requirements, but her science and engineering teachers loved her.
Level C/Step 2: She's confident in her skills, knows what she's good at and where her strengths lie. Eager to learn, and used to asking people around her for insights.
Step 3 (traits): Self-confidence, curiosity, cooperative.
Step 4: Put together, these traits could make her an effective leader. She likes getting information, but not necessarily the people she gets it from. She's good at working with them, but it's not her favorite method.
Step 5: She has a way of charging up to people when she's looking to question them, coming at them directly like she's on the attack. There's a moment before she corners you where people will try to flee, but once she has them they're usually charmed by her.
Level B (young): Just past Full Adulthood so just old enough to be considered entirely responsible for herself.
Level C/Step 2: Independent and self sufficient, she's been taking care of herself for a while now. Nervous anyway because the situation is new to her and a lot of the constants she was counting on have been removed.
Step 3: Independent and slightly aloof.
Step 4: She holds herself apart, not because she necessarily wants to, but because she doesn't really trust the people around her just yet. Her former family group wasn't super close so she's not used to depending on people at all.
Step 5: When she's thinking, not paying attention to her surroundings, she tends to touch her hand to her temple, and she'll bat hands away from her work.
Level B (orphan): Newly Evocated (adopted) so tentative in how she acts.
Level C/Step 2: She's wary of her new family, holding them at arm's length.
Step 3: Cautious, but optimistic.
Step 4: Holding herself apart, but wants to trust these new people in her life.

Level B (potential Zarichler): the newest member of an elite group, the cutthroat environment is not something she is acquainted with.
Level C/Step 2: She's not going to let these upper class jerks push her around. None of them know the qualifications for Zarichler or why they were chosen, and she knows her own worth. Maybe this isn't the job she would have chosen for herself, but she's going to give it her all regardless.
Step 3: Determination and stubbornness, can-do attitude
Step 4: Circles around to her confidence and independence, but that stubbornness is in play as well, as well as the optimism.
Step 5: Tilts her head up when she's really getting into a conversation.
Overall: her desire is to take advantage of new opportunities and become a successful engineer. But she also wants to get closer to Cor, for a variety of reasons, most of which come down to the fact that she's always loved him and now they have a chance to be together.
Set the scene: Brenna's first day within the selection process. She's meeting her fellow Potentials, formally meeting the current Zarichler for the first time, and just generally being introduced to this element of society and learning what will be expected of her.
Desire: she wants to learn a lot, to really push herself and excel in this strange new pathway. At the same time, she really wants to keep her head down and make a good impression. This doesn't necessarily have to be a conflicting goal, but she suspects that it will be.
Distancing: at least two of the 4 potentials have already decided that she's not smart enough to make it simply because she was an orphan. Her own unease makes her meeting with the Zarichler awkward, and the tasks she's set to test her preparedness for this position don't play to her strengths at all. She's not going to do well.
Denial: one of the other potentials (antagonist) has deliberately sabotaged her work, which leads to the Zarichler revealing how much disdain she has for the newcomer. Brenna basically has no hope of being chosen.
Devastation: her status where she is, with her family (which is rather optional in terms of placement), is in question. If she doesn't at least perform well, then she's going to be isolated and set apart. And she will end up there unless she does well with her placement.
