Terrum

The surface is more or less ruled by powerful cabal of ancient dragons who have divided the continent between themselves. A couple years back, one of the countries ruled by arguably the most powerful dragon killed their dragon ruler and ruled themselves for a year or so before the rest of the cabal got together and collectively razed that entire country and made it pretty unlivable. The elven people are mostly reclusive, living in small city states hidden from the naked eye through powerful magic. Mostly isolationist, elves of the surface send out trading and diplomatic caravans every so often to maintain appearances.     Below the surface live warring dwarven clans, fighting between themselves and the various other creature of the underground over a vast cavern complex known as "The Tunnels". Dwarven culture revolves almost completely around the Stone, a living, shifting life-force that permeates throughout the earth around them and grants them the boons of gems and rare ores.
