Oniyuri Peninsula

With an area of 24,300 sq mi, the Oniyuri Peninsula is the primary destination for any citizens of Londe looking for adventure, a less cramped place to call home, or simply needing to be elsewhere for whatever reason. Named for a species of orange lily native to the region, this is the only area on the newly discovered continent of Yutakaya currently settled by the Kiyoshi Empire.

Geography

Like much of the surrounding area, this penninsula was once burried under the sea. In the centuries since the waters fell and approximately 25 thousand square miles of new land was exposed, the rich soil enabled a dense forest to cover the rolling hills and limestone outcroppings. This forest has been broken into separate expanses of thinning woodland by the efforts of the settlers of what is now the Oniyuri Province , and the land continues to be cleared by and for logging, farmland, and the settler's one sided war on the inhabitants of the forest.

Fauna & Flora

Common: Magical Beast, Plants, Fey, Animals, Vermin Uncommon: Aberrations, Undead, Humanoids, Monstrous Humanoids, Oozes Rare: Outsiders, Dragons, Constructs   The Ankheg is an invasive species from Londe. It would be nearly impossible for one to get through Aomori since it would be very difficult to get to the surface due to all the root systems and so would not be able to get food in/under the forest. This would suck and, as simple beasts, they would have no incentive to forge West through Aomori. How did they get there then? From the Underdark? Brought over by settlers? Why would anyone do that? Planned to use them to dig tunnels maybe? Did it work or not? For how long?
