Lyare: Mountains of Hope
A kingdom that lies deep and embedded into the Abdierg mountain range, small villages andsmaller cities lay scattered about the frost tipped forested terrains. Cold and immovable, but lush with life lays the capital of Lyare, Luennar.
Geography
The kingdom of Lyare lies across a vast mountain range including a large forested valley located to the north and the long reaching plains that host the Grand Cathedral Library which lies under Lyares jurisdiction to the East. The mountain range is huge, bearing some of the largest mountains in Terras Mana. Most would say they were impassible until the Goddess Rivulete' brought settlers up into the mountains and cleared paths that lead into the mountainous stetches and cut the forests' floors for easier travel.
The ranges are huge, mostly snow capped monstrous towering landmasses that reach high into the sky, some piercing clouds and reaching further into the unbreathable atmosphere of the planet. The mountains run into one another creating a vast plethora of different landmasses within the ranges. Some plataues where small cities have been erected, other wide valleys full of marshes and impossible reptillian creatues, as well as forests that spread into the hilled plains where Centralis' roads lead and connect the Kingdoms.
Of note there is a large lake and winding river that has nestled itself in between the mountains where Luennar resides. The lake is fed from two sources, underwater and from the mountains themselves, periodic avalanches, snow and rainfall keep the lake filled and livid as the waters are always churning from the heated vents below and the cooler water from mountain fed springs.
The river Swindling winds its way through the mountains into a larger lake deep in the Serene continent opposite of the Canstal bay. There are humongous trees that skirt the rivers edge, with thick heavy load bearing branches at the base and thinning as they reach the top. Directly across the lake from Luennar lies the small city in the trees that is built around the large trunks bearing the wooden and stone housing.
The marshes lie deep into the mountains near the western expanse of the ranges near the Valley of two Kingdoms. The Marshes aren't large and are often shadowed by the nearst mountain causing the marshes to be more dry than humid creating mudtraps and quickmuck throughout the region.
The Valley of Two Kingdoms is seperated directly down the middle in terms of kingdom jurisdiction. Lyare having the southern end where the base of the mountain range meets the Forested floor of the Valley. Only one city lies there and its become more of a hub city between the two kingdoms where citizens of both Lyare and Centralis reside in a near peaceful atmosphere. The City is made into the trees much like *****.
Fauna & Flora
Long tall and wide pines, oaks, and other trees are spread throughout the emmaculate ranges. Some feeding off the marshes, while other assorted trees have buried themselves into the lakes spread throughout the mountain.
The Valleys and mountain range has an overabundance of fruit, rice, and vegetable plants that lay scattered about the range. Some places are unique in that only a certain fruit will grow in a specific spot making that small town or village a good tourist destination to travel for those specialty foods. Only the upper echelon in Luennar have these foods delivered to them.
The Large trees near the river and lake Muennar secrete a sap that is heavily used in both foods throughout the region and Alchemical, Sigilistic properties. Due to the lush liveliehood and great care that is taken to raise these trees the sap is made in abundance and presents extreme and powerful properties.
There are different vines, plants, flowers and brush the lay atop the mountains the grow only in the snow. Their normally white/silver leaves blending in with the mountaintop scenery. These plants are heavily used for Alchemical purposes in creating healing potions and salves as well as being natural energy boosters and antitodes for other more poisonous fauna that grows mountainside.
Natural Resources
Fresh water is in abundance as well as forestlike animals and other creatures run scattered throughout the mountains crags, marsh, forests, and lakes.
Mining colonies and farms are also spread throughout the landmass, some having entire towns and smaller cities created to supply the Kingdom with an abundance of resources making Lyare the richest of the three kingdoms that span the continent of Serene.
There are an abundance of mineral deposits and veins that run through and under the mountains, including Lyarian obsidian, steel, and iron, being the most naturally common and strongest type of steel throughout Serene.
There are also Emerald, Ruby, Geostone veins that run deep into the mountains. Lyare has made a habit of decorating trivial things from, swords, belts, cloaks, lamps, and other assorted items due to the over abundance of precious gemstones.
They are also heavily used in Lyraian Alchemy and Sigilistic application, spanning many uses, from finding stones, to focus' and energy traps for Glyphagists.
