Beastiary of Agandaur

This is a compilation article of all the creatures of Terrana, specifically the continent of Agandaur that were written for the World Anvil February 2023 Beastiary entry. Next to each prompt is a quick summary and the link to the article about the unique creature.
  1. Wings - The Shandaralian Fly is a tiny fly that lives in the Shandaral Forest. It is a potent ingredient for many potions and spells.
  2. Stripes - The Alfmarcron from the Iss Wuglim Marrs mountain range. From below it looks like a grey spot in the sky hiding the colorful bright stripped patterns on its back.
  3. Horn - In the Nearetch Desert the Shoalkim is a sizable lizard that interfere with travel through the desert if it perceives that the traveler is intruding on its territory.
  4. Shell - Throughout the Mancurian Sea in the shallow areas lives the Surithi Etha. This carnivorous shellfish is able to magically change the color of its shell, allowing it to wait for prey to come in reach of its tentacles.
  5. Colorful - Travelling through the Shandaral Forest you might be able to see the Nardia Witren. This large, six leg, beast is know for the bright and colorful fur and being able to carry large loads for quite the distance.
  6. Nocturnal - At night on the sands of the Nearetch Desert you might see the Tishka Snake slithering along. Be careful and keep your distance for its bite releases a venom that will paralyze you in seconds and your final experience will be eaten alive without an ability to move.
  7. Mythical - In the Iss Wuglim Marrs mountains, the tallest is Alfmarridgid where it is said the Histal Crentasuri reside. These fabled beasts are said to be able to reveal the future to those that are able to locate their dens and bring them gifts.
  8. Prey - Well known to those in Buriman, the Tarrist is a common food staple. The Tarrist thrives on the plains and in the grasses that are scattered throughout the Parrillian Plains.
  9. Monstrous - Deep under Alfmarridgid are many caverns that have been carved by the flow of lava, water and magic. In these caverns you would be unfortunate to encounter a Lacurosi. Highly intelligent which makes this creature a danger that ended many an adventurer.
  10. Danger - Deep in the Mancurian Sea lives the Narvolkstan. Only encountered by those that dare to adventure into the deep this giant of a sea creature's notable characteristic is how light is able to bend around the creature, rendering it nearly invisible.
  11. Purr - The Gidar's hunting grounds are in western Agandaur where the Shandaral Forest and the @Parrillian Plains. This feline normally feeds upon the Tarrist, but has been known to attack lone travelers or small groups.
  12. Roar - Nothing chills the blood more than the thunderous roar of the Nearetch Dragon. These sandy dragons roam the Nearetch Desert in the air and below the sand.
  13. Shriek - At the foothills of the Iss Wuglim Marrs in the Shandaral Forest you may hear the call of the Jurianco. This little bird can magically amplify the shriek, both to scare away predators and also to announce its territory.
  14. Howl - As you are hunting in Issendorian Icelands among the snow you may hear the howl of the Frenor. A coat of white and sky blue, by time you hear the howl it is likely too late to avoid it.
  15. Tamed - The Nitchet is a playful little reptile. Known for being social and very curious they quickly became the companions of many households throughout Agandaur.
  16. Pack - In Durturnor among the wasteland you find the great worms traveling through the ash ground. The Drentarnet hunt together for prey large and small.
  17. Burrow - On the beaches throughout Agandaur one can find these little mounds of sand with a hole at the top. below these mounds rests the Razclamor.
  18. Bond - You would be lucky to find a Tanarkeet in the great Shandaral Forest and even luckier if one was able to communicate telepathically with you. For one that decided to do so intertwines its fate forever with yours.
  19. Stinky - In the Weedamp Marsh one would first smell the Swanerupt before spotting it due to its rotting meat stench that travels for quite the distance.
  20. Gentle - Throughout the oceans of Terrana there are the Wilampish, a huge creature that filter feeds on all the small debris in the oceans.
  21. Messenger - When discovered the Geminaro was a beautiful creature. It was later found that they always were born in sets of identical twins. And then it was discovered that they could instantaneously exchange places with their twin no matter the distance carrying whatever is attached to them to wherever their twin is located.
  22. Food - To the farmers throughout Agandaur and especially in Shireswallow the Apinito is essential. This versatile bug is able to pollinate a wide range of crops to feed the population.
  23. Vicious - Around the ashen fields surrounding Durturnor there is the Eeshkarac hunting for anything it can tear into.
  24. Silent - Many an alchemist seeks the Sinari Snake for use in their potions of silence or invisibility. Masters of stealth this snake seems to be able to dampen any noise near it preventing a potential meal from raising the alarm.
  25. Parasite - The bane of the Nitchet is the Muscovanit. Able to lay their eggs behind the frill flap where the neck meets the skull when they hatch they'll burrow deeper and attach to the neural tissues on the spinal cord. Nitchet owners will check their pets often for eggs.
  26. Predator - One of the dangers of the Mancurian Sea is the Grognar which hunts both near the shore and out in the sea for anything that may enter the water within its fast-moving suction fins.
  27. Stalk - North of the Issendorian Icelands lies magnificent, tall ice spires and among the frozen mountains where an adventurer would hopefully see the Quirar. Hopefully because if they didn't see it then it was stalking them.
