The Razor Sea Cutter
The Razor Sea Cutter is a galleon class warship built near the end of the Great War in 3 BW. Built with multiple decks, 500 tons, a length of 160 ft, beam of 32ft, four mast holding a total of 6 sails that gave it a blazing speed of 7 knots without magic, and manned by a crew of 35 the Razor was an impressive sight to behold for its time.
The Razor Sea Cutter was finished nearing the closing years of the war which didn't take away any glorious opportunities from it. Built as a flagship at the citadel of Justice later named the Citadel of Theodila the Woeful, this ship carried a crew of the bravest crusaders of the god of justice and its never ending hunt, Ordo Carnifex. The captain of the Razor Sea Cutter was Saint Lord Marullus Gallows the II. His valiant crew charged across the sea in a hunt for King of the Goblin's flag ship that had been moving in a large fleet all around the world attacking refugee ships. Lord Gallows the II's fleet consisted of one flag ship and four other galleons The Futile's demise, The Theif's bane, The Magnum Opus of Garl a wizard ran ship, and finally The redeemed's fury a ship of ex-soldiers of enemy nations who looked down upon Ordo Carnifex only to find a new life under this god's guidance of redemption and retribution.
The Goblin fleet was rumored to be as large as 1 galleon ship, 8 triremes, and 12 Biremes. The first ever engagement was less of a full blown battle and more of a hit and run strike during a heavy fog just North of where Cleminster would be founded years later. Lord Gallows the II ordered his fleet to move opposite parallel of the goblin fleet which at the start he could only see the 12 biremes at first. A quick movement running along side the ships, but slightly angled at a 25 degree angle away from the goblin fleet allowed them to just barely slide by the 8 triremes. The Galleon was on the opposite side of the other ships from the angle Lord Gallows the II had approached from. This distant with ships in-between made it impossible for the Goblin king to take shots with the galleons canons on Lord Gallows the IIs ships during this sweep, but Lord Gallows the II was not one to simply pass by without ordering shots fired. On the pass Lord Gallows the II ordered a continuous barrage to hit any and all ships passing by their fleet. 3 triremes, and 4 Biremes were confirmed sinking during the hit and run battery.
It would be one year before they saw the Goblin King's fleet again in this time they joined a conflict to aid fellow acolytes who had been fighting to retain the current factions control between Dastow and Clewold as they aided Dastow in holding the lines keeping Clewold far away from the Jewel of Forlonde West of the Dastow Tower.
When the Goblin King appeared again he was hunting down refugees who were trying to reach Caburh which was South of Clewold Castle. Lord Gallows the II took a gamble in hoping his approach from behind the Goblin King's fleet would go unnoticed as they were attacking the refugees. As they approached from behind they turned the vessel showing Starboard toward the enemies rear before opening fire. The Goblin King was caught off guard as his personal galleon was badly damaged. This time around 2 triremes, and 6 biremes were confirmed sunk by Lord Gallows the II's fast thinking which forced the Goblin King into full retreat. The refugees saved were escorted to Caburh safely from there.
The Third and final confrontation would be the last battle The Razor Sea Cutter would ever see. In the Sea of Insanity South of the Gifu Stronghold The Razor Sea cutter had joined forces with the Gifu Naval Brigade who were in the process of making landfall on the island of Caham. The landing was a success, and Lord Gallows the II was completely focused on covering the Gifu forces from the Sea with cannon fire. This however left the rear of their fleet unprotected as a vengeful Goblin King decided to take make his last and final maneuver to wipe out a pain in his backside. The remaining 3 triremes, and 2 biremes made their move sneaking behind 3 of the Galleons and setting off explosives along their hulls successfully sinking them leaving The Magnum Opus of Garl, and The Razor Sea Cutter as the remaining ships. As their fellow ships were sinking Lord Gallows the II split the two galleons up to vice push the triremes and biremes into the range of the sinking ships allowing their death knells to become the last resort of a cornered animal wiping out all the biremes, and 2 triremes. The Goblin King's Galleon now headed into battle at full speed as the remaining trireme repositioned itself in time not allowing the Magnum Opus to route it to its demise but instead ram into its hull doing enough damage to cause it to start taking on more water than its crew can throw out even with magic. The Goblin King's Galleon copied the manuver utilized in the last battle as he quickly turned the ship facing the Port side on the Razor. The barrage unleashed damaged the Razor's main mast and blasted a hole in its Starboard hull causing it to start taking on water. Crews quickly moved to patch up the ship as wizards from the Magnum Opus proceeded to jump overboard swimming to the Razor to aid it with their magic in mending the damage. Before the Razor could get the Goblin's last ship in its sights the Goblin King was readying up one final barrage that would have sank the ship then and there, but the Magnum Opus thanks to its crazy Captain Magus Garl he managed to move the limping ship in the way using it as a shield tearing it in half. As the two sides of the ship broke apart and started raising their ends the Razor kept itself between the two halves as shields as it fired its first volley and finally as it passed by one of the halves unleashed a second volley. Both volleys hit their mark tearing the rear end of the Galleon along with its paddle right off the ship. The 2nd volley taking the Goblin King's head right off.
The surviving crews managed to patch up the Razor and sailed it back to the Citadel where it was taken in for repairs, but never returned to battle before the war's end. Taking out the Goblin King and his raiders may not be a war ending tale, but those who suffered at the hands of the Goblin King would remain thankful and sing praises of the Razor that fired a cannon round that took a Goblin King's head right off and made the seas a little bit safer for refugees everywhere. The ship was later retired to Landa and used as a ceremony ship for The Cathedral of Ordo Carnifex in the Central District.
