The Hands of the King

Melecoth, Miathrog and Dragorpsa

Created by Dat_Mango
Self-proclaimed Lord Emlyn of the Obsidian Tower, this character, this Hand, has caused quite the distraction to our courtly duties. Those damned grave robb-- err treasure hunters were supposed to procure us a golden artefact to help us against the Untamed hordes, not wake up some long-dead maniac that would happily dance over our fresh corpses! Something has to be done! High Emlyn is forming an army and we don't have the strength to punch through those walls... I don't know about you, but I sure am not wanting to risk this Kingdom any longer.
  • Robent ag Gradlon, Steward to the Court of Mylrond
  • Physical Description

    Facial Features

As the undead mix of three spirits of powerful mages, atop the Hands' shoulders were three smoky skulls, each representing one of the mages. The skull of Melecoth had flames bursting from eye and mouth holes; The skull of Miathrog had a mist of electricity sparking around it; The skull of Dragorpsa emitted a low eerie green glow.

    Personal history

The Hands of the King was born after the death of the Golden King from soul shards and remnants of the triumvirate of mages in the Golden King's court. Melecoth, Miathrog and Dragorpsa were once the warlords and top lieutenants during their Lord's dark conquest of Elgerlia.   The three mages all explored free use to learn arcane arts in their sadistic approaches as long as they kept an unwavering loyalty to the Golden King. Even after his death, their loyalty lived on and shards of their souls became trapped in one undead body to do everything in their power to bring back the old ways. Soon after their rebirth as the Hands of the King, they were hunted down by all armies that fought the Golden King, thought to have been killed, and then imprisoned in magical status in the mountain fortress of High Emlyn.   In the Third Era, when a group of tomb raiders were tasked by the King of Mylrond to uncover a mythic Golden Artefact and accidentally broke into the thought-to-be sealed throne room atop the Obsidian Tower, they awoke the Hands of the King to a new Era. Almost instantly, the Hands used their combined magics to seal off the gates to the important trade route High Emlyn had become, trapping a large number of people inside the fortress and force them into becoming citizens of this new independent city-state. The Hands imposed a dictatorial marshal rule over the peoples of High Emlyn and began terrorising and experimenting on them.   Within just a few months, dark alliances and pacts had been formed for the first time since the Golden King's domination and High Emlyn started amassing an army of their own. This army both secured the fortress walls and mountain passes, even raiding nearby towns and villages under the Kingdom of Mylrond. Before long, the Hands started their sacrifices and blood magics, hoping to achieve a mass of power so influential, they could resurrect the Golden King once more.   Before long, these singular sacrifices turned into rituals that imposed a magical aura over the entire fortress city. This curse inflicted on the Hands' "subjects" slowly sucked out their life forces to fuel whatever accursed plan he hatched atop the Obsidian Tower.
