Terrakees

On July 16 1945 the first nuclear test occurred, known as trinity. In the wake of the the explosion the universe thinned and a small fit sized window was formed. This looking glass into another reality was left untouched and unnoticed by the United States government; so did the other undisclosed testing but this changed with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Every nuclear test and subsequent explosion created a pocket between our universe and the reality parallel to ours. August 6th, the bombing of Hiroshima, mass destruction entails and in the center a glass door of sorts was formed. Reports were few, the sheer devastation left few in the days in-between to journey to the center of the blast. But for those that did, their are reports of a strange world, of creatures mighty people not unlike us but with great power. August 9th, the bombing of Nagasaki shattered the space between our realities and from the gash between planes so did spill a universe; a plane all to its own. But with the formation of something new, it left two universes ripped apart, left in all but a husk of their former selves. Life now rewritten, the former universe continued its war, lost as ever; the latter was never the same, a golden era usurped and a power never to be seen again. For the beings of the new plane, history had just started but they did not forget where they once were, or what they had left behind. _Merrikees(merRY-KeESS) -Merri-Land/Area someone owns Kees- Gods/higher beings(general term) Earth - Terra-ground/dirt TERRAKESS _(M-thought they were the reincraton of ancient hersos and were theirs gods chosen to have such power) _(M-regious, think a lot about what they were before they were and finding out where you go when you die and where you were before you were alive)   Nearly 80 years have gone by since the forming of the new planet and the society that has developed is one divided. Due to the blend of Universes most land masses were originally fully integrated with humans and the Merrikees but after a few quick and bloody scuffles an uneasy balance rose between the two people. Tensions rose and sank over the next near centaury but a uneasy peace rose between the people as harshness of their new planet demanded cooperation. Terrakess was a very different place than both Earth and Merrikess and neither people were preapared. Most of the earth from earth came from Central & North America and the South Pacific where most of the nuclear testing took place, but due to the radical nature of creation people where taken from all over the world. This applied to Merrikees as well, but to a much more dramatic effect due to Merrikees' population being less spread out but much more diverse. While a lot of the populace from Merrikees came over, more of the creatures and magic of Merrikees inhabit Terrakees now than the Civilized species. Most of the cities from Merrikess were protected by ancient wards, walls and warriors, but with the reintegration they were lucky if their house came with them, let alone their belongings. Their were many cases of houses and families becoming intertwined, some even biologically.   The human cities being so Toxic to the natural environment worked well as a "natural" repellent to the Creatures of Mer. In the beginning this only allowed for war between the people but coexistence came quick for those on the outskirts of society. Entire cities had been transported into into dense mega fauna filled jungles. The new dynamics of this world caused this to be an even bigger problem due to the electromagnetic field and electricity in general on Terrakees to be much stronger, so much so that all batteries and wires fried due to the material not being able to handle the new charge. The citizens of Merrikees were having a similar issue stemming from the a sift in the Arcane; most importantly the absence of certain Gods. The higher beings that did make the journey were changed and became morphed over the next half century. With new Gods come new magic, but even before the corruption of their sovereignty the Magic of Terrakees was different than what they knew. The Magic here was much more tangible yet much more guarded and difficult to manipulate and master. The power of the new Master spellcasters out fathoms even the greatest Wizard on Merrikess, the new arcane benders seeming to have a direct connection with the magic. This did not end with the Merrikees as the humans started to display arcane abilities as well as preforming minor miracles soon after settling the new land.
