It has been nearly 2 and a half centuries since the Great War of Elves and Men was won by mankind. All surviving elves were slaughtered with the exception of the formally ruling families. Those 3 families were imprisoned by magical means, separated from each other across the continent. The world has been at peace, with no sightings of elves or other abhorrent humanoid species in ages; but behind closed doors, rumors are spreading. Maybe the elves hadn't been eradicated. Maybe, they've simply been lying dormant, preparing their next and surely fatal strike.
