Wilma Woods

Wilma Woods

Wilma woods was the community leader of Spiderrun. During the time of Aumantie colonization she served as an unofficial representative of the frontier people.

During the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries Auma was competing with other Guildwellian nations for control of the Common Land. One of their primary focuses in doing this was to spread their new veriety if Edenism. This, however, forged direct opposition of the many and varied Common Lander traditions.

Aumanite laws aimed to borderline forbid the practice of and form of religion, superstition or any other not Edenite based world view. Additionally there was a growing sense of Gyann purity. As Gyann Guildwellians pushed further north they encountered more and more people who blurred the lines of the contemporary racial classes. Specifically, they encountered several populations of what would be considered both Gyann and Aylish ancestry. With the settlement of Hassium being primarily populated by Gyann Aumanites, most of the Common Landers were pushed into the frontier areas of Spiderrun.

Woods was the daughter of an Aumanite soldier man and a Common Lander farmer woman. Her father was favored among Hassium’s guard and thus she was considered of a more refined breed — sort of a Gyann among thorns. Growing up, she was given work in Hassium’s public records building and got promoted to be a secretary in their justice building. Because of this position, she was seen by the people of Spiderrun as their eyes and primary influence in the colony’s affairs.

Following the Boot Leather Riots of the 1380’s she was appointed as representative of Spiderrun. Among her most notable of actions was the Spiderrun Compromise of 1394.

In 1394 the colony of Hassium began an initiative to deforest Spiderrun and ship its lumber to the Aumanite colonies in T’sagul — which went through shortages during winter due to the secession of House Woodman from the T’sagul Union. This meant that Hassium would be forcing Spiderrun’s Common Landers out and moving the new lumber company in. To help fix the situation Woods managed to convince the mayor to consider letting the company use Common Lander employees, this allowed for separation of a residential area from the forest for the Common Landers to stay. As well as a surplus of jobs for them. Additionally Hassium wouldn’t have to put in as much effort or money to create rapid transportation from the city to the country if the laborers lived nearby.

Adopting parent of Delilah Deadwood.

If not, it's okay! Not agreeing to be streamed definitely does not put you at any disadvantage for winning in my eyes. Please respond swiftly by replying here (make sure to click REPLY under my comment or I won't be notified), message me on my World Anvil profile page, Discord, or anywhere else you find me online.   Thanks again! Whatever you choose, God bless and much success! <3

Sure, I'm fine with that. However, I have reread my article and noticed a few typos. Do you want me to fix those before you read it out loud?

NO! No need to edit before the Summer Camp wait period is up. All of us, including myself, have errors and desires to clean up some articles. That's to be expected. I'm not at all a harsh judge. Thanks for permission! I'll try to let you know when I plan to stream in case you'd like to check it out. You can also always watch streams after the fact on my YouTube channel if you aren't able to make it or prefer not to be there live. :)
