Terminus

Terminus, the world remaining at the end of all others. An infinite realm of abundance, a multiversal menagerie, and the most treacherous preservation. Here, outstanding members of extinct species, drawn from across time and space by Life itself, are given a second chance. Free of the struggles of living they once knew, without hunger, natural threat, or even internal concerns such as age, but in the presence of new and greater hazards. Life, all-loving, all-seeing, and desiring to be all-powerful, is strongest on Terminus, but Death is Terminus itself, an ever-present and ever-equal adversary. The eternal conflict between the two existential forces, truly worthy of being named gods by those created and ended by their whims, is more pronounced here. On Terminus, Life has summoned countless souls and revived them with their sentience intact. These reanimated who by living in defiance of Death's domain and hand in their annihilation, feed Life's endless thirst for propagation and the might it brings, and Death has brought the entirety of Terminus' material body and wildlife, single-minded and instinctual forces of extermination eager to rectify this and consume Life's strength for their own, to bear in retaliation. The revived have been equipped with the means to survive, granted improved physical forms, complex systems to accelerate their growth while weakening Terminus' endless hordes, and the ability to turn their will into power and their beliefs and ideas into sentient, symbiotic beings that further enhance that power. If they should succeed then their new home can become a paradise shaped by their hands and a place of eternal life, but the same dangers that drove them to respective destructions still exist around and within them, Death's sword hanging above their heads. Their myriad differences breed conflict not only among the whole of lifeforms, as so with any ecosystem, but even within their own species and in the end Terminus may only be home to one race or Death alone.
