Naetel
In many a night sky has risen a dim grey disk. In the best of times, it provides meager light. In the worst of times, it doesn't show its face at all. Naetel is seen as a sleeping version of El to more primitive cultures, such as the Aiuerans, but we know him to be more akin to the Plaenats due to his dim surface.
An enormous circle lighter than the rest of Naetel covers a portion of his surface, causing more primitive cultures like those in Aiuera to believe it is the pupil of some deity watching humanity. The Dandurians even believe it to be the pupil of Tal himself, which has base only in their pagan past, rather than in Talanos doctrine.
Naetel's cycle of fullness and darkness builds the base for our calendar. He takes thirty-six days to complete a cycle, which is exactly a tenth of the length of a year. The precise nature of this relationship leads many scholars to believe Tal purposefully designed the Naetan Cycle to fit perfectly with the Elan Cycle.
