Murcala

Of the western islands, Murcala is the most mysterious. The name itself comes from the only peoples we have interacted with: the Gulfads of Porfleliuomnia. All we know for certain is that Murcala is a relatively dry island south of Aecara. It is thought to be larger than Ioca, but there is no evidence for that truth other than short voyages and hearsay.

Geography

Only the far northern section of the island has been truly explored, and of that we only know the names of the land we interacted with. That is, the Corumo Frestipungia on a northeastern peninsula, the Hituelo Domnitunf that flows through it, and the Raemao Tomag that line the northern coast.   A large isle lies not too far south of the Frestipungia peninsula. From what has been seen, it only seems to house grasslands, stones, and cold.   Other than this, little more than whispers come to us. According to them, there may be a vast desert in the west, mountains to the south, and a truly strange forest further south of that.

Fauna & Flora

Too little is known to have any sort of certainty, but there are tales of queer beasts roaming the far corners of Murcala. Many are too strange to even consider as real, such as the claim of turtles the size of mountains that cause the ground to violently shake as they walk. Some are more believable, yet still wondrous, such as tales of a beaked mammal that lays eggs.

Natural Resources

Some in the Empire are convinced there are boundless riches to be found in Murkala, as of yet undiscovered and unclaimed. There is no evidence to these claims, however, and Emperor Taetysares has, as of now, never commissioned an expedition into the island.
