Aicleda
The island directly north of Ioca. Generally, less heat and rain hit Aicleda than hit the Etherian Homeland, but it is still quite a tropical island overall. The mainland portion of Aicleda is better organized into two sections on either side of the Raemao Toncius and Raemao Jidas: the East and the West.
In respect to size, it is smaller than its southern neighbor, spanning approximately 2250 maiels east to west and 1000 maiels north to south.
Geography
The East
The East is drier than the West, lending much to its much lower biodiversity and population. The short, thick grasses of the Corumo Pulsasc extend from the eastern coast to the edge of the Drasc. More rock than sand, the Drasc's arid climate climbs up the eastern and southern slopes of the Jidas and Toncius respectively. Huge storms frequently hit the northern portion, forming the lightning-battered Manelo Leusasc. The East
The West is far lusher. Gently swaying grasses of the Corumo Hanel, along with the Hituelo Varir, fill the isolated valley north of the Jidas along with mysterious stone monoliths the size of fortresses. Further to the south, the Manelo Upaniine covers the rest of the land in a blanket of vivid green. Fueling the massive forest is the Hituelo Joase where many lesser rivers south of the Jidas flow into.Fauna & Flora
The East
The East's drier climate forces life to be far smaller and less diverse than in the West. The closer one gets to the mountains, the more Death rules until only the hardiest desert dwellers--mainly turtles, small snakes, mice, and insects--can live there. Notable is a strange kind of tree that seems to grow upside down with its leafy growths towards the bottom and its branches merging into a single skyward spine. In the Pulsasc, life improves. Short, horse-like creatures roam the hilly plains along with saber-toothed lions. Occasional groves of trees can be found closer to the coast, but one should stay wary of the spiked bushes that can kill the largest man with its poison. With lightning fires so frequent in the Leusasc, life there has come to be well fireproof. Trees have rock-like bark thicker than a man's fist, and reptiles with especially hard scales thrive over soft-bodied mammals. The West
In the West, life finds an easier path. In the northern valley is a grain that can grow to the height of a man, so plentiful that herds of large grazers roam the plains, forever chased by many kinds of predatory cats and wolves. Strange fat lizards conglomerate at the stone monoliths, forming tunnels in the rock. The massive Upaniine jungle hosts so many creatures that they are too numerous to list here. The most noteworthy are six-limbed apes near in intelligence to humans, plants that trap and digest animals, trees with sap so poisonous that a touch can kill and elephant, and giant climbing wolves. The various rivers and lakes host many kinds of fish, amphibians, and waterbugs that a great deal of the land animals feed on.Natural Resources
Similar to Ioca, the main resources here are lumber and food, though the food is mainly animal-based rather than plant-based. There are a few other valuable materials, however. Silver has been found in the western slopes of the Jidas, and dazzling red gems lie underneath the Leusasc. Stone from the Hanel monoliths is a pristine building material, but the people there fight viciously to protect it, so many find the risk needed to obtain it too great.
