S1 E33: Turkeybear and Stuffing

General Summary

In which the gang cleans up on loot and fights a couple of thanks-giving monsters.

• Having defeated Rael's Dream, the party cleans up the various treasures scattered about, finding a number of provocative items including a map of the Caves of Chaos and a document with notes on it naming known items like the Eye of Quindarin and the Pillar of Winter, but also unknown things like the Hand of Vecna.
• They head back down with Gido, their guide and porter, who helps carry their gear.
• After cleaning up and with some time to kill, the gang participates in an open battle as part of the Giving of Thanks festival, where several large and delicious beasts are fought and, once slain, prepared into a delightful feast for the people of the city of Marleven. Large bets are placed on these battles, against a strange beast called a Turkeybear - which is an Owlbear but instead of an Owl, it has a Turkey head; and the dreaded Turducken Hydra, a multi-headed beast comprised of various Turkey, Duck and Chicken heads. These defeated, a great feast is had, and the party returns to their rooms, planning to go back up for Blizzard who stays behind in the garden to contemplate the Pillar and protect it from additional shenanigans.
