Origin of the Oracle of Tepidara

After the Battle of Paresine and final peace between the Divines and Daimons, the sky gods settled on the slopes of Tepidara. Their new home was Nirakon, a magnificent palace with columns shimmering like rainbows and walls shining pure white, gold, and silver. Its brilliance was said to blind any mortal that laid eyes on it without protection from the gods. The god of the sky and rain, Teris, and Mapera, goddess of dusk, dawn, and light, were the first to establish themselves there. * - personification of the sky - settled at * as well. * and *, the father-daughter personifications of the sun and moon respectively, refused to reside at the palace permanently. * visited at night, while * did so during the day.   One day, Teris spotted a woman tending a garden on the slopes of the mountain. Named *, the shepherd’s wife immediately caught the sky god’s attention with her beauty. He appeared to her as an attractive, muscular man. Unable to seduce * with looks alone, Teris offered her the ability to foresee the future. She agreed, became the first oracle of Teris, and bore a daughter. She and her husband * declared the girl a blessing from the gods, who they named *. They then dedicated a modest shrine to Teris and * told paying customers prophecies. They accumulated vast wealth and commissioned a proper temple to honor the god.   Unfortunately, the truth of *’s parentage came out when the girl was fourteen. Mapera overheard the couple’s quarrel and gave * a fit of madness. He beat * to death and cast * from his house. After Teris found out, he struck * down with a thunderbolt. He sent Lilia - another goddess - to search for *. The messenger goddess found her and brought the young woman back to her woman. * became the second Oracle of Tepidara. Eventually, one of her daughters became the third oracle. From then on, *’s female descendants in the region were blessed by Teris and became oracles in turn. Spread/Apocrypha: From the central region near Mount Tepidara, the story spread to the rest of Diakas.
