Causes

The curse is caused simply by someone casting it on a target.

Symptoms

Those afflicted will be find themselves unable to sleep without difficulty. When they do sleep, their dreams will be plagued with nightmares.

Treatment

Any dispeller worth their salt can remove the curse. It can also be dealt with using the same sorts of drugs that deal with real world insomonia, as the curse is simply giving someone the disease.

Prognosis

The curse does not come in stages, but it does get progressively worse. The first few months the target will have difficulty sleeping, but by the end of the first few years they may not be able to sleep at all at night. The nightmares remain the same in intensity.

Prevention

Many mid-level protection spells can prevent this curse from having effect.

History

A commonly used curse to annoy someone who has wronged you. As the curse is very subtle, not even leaving a mark on the target like most do, most people afflicted with it don't know that they have it. Once they find out they do, they often got treatment for it, as mundane methods can also work to cure the curse.
