General Physical Condition

Ashley is tall, thin, pale and looks constantly angry. Appearing as she did in her prime, and in peak physical condition, her muscles may not be very visible but if you were to feel them they'd feel like metal fibers. Power in a slender, angular package.

Body Features

Pale white skin, bloody red eyes and hair. Her nails are constantly sculpted into claws, with their knobiness helping to make that look like a trait of her clain, even if it wasn't.

Facial Features

Angular eyes and chin, with fairly angular nose. The only thing that isn't angular are her ears.

Identifying Characteristics

Ashley has a few scars over her body, mostly on her back. She also two prick marks in her throat from where she was bitten to be turned. Her left arm is circled with a spiraling mark of arrows and bands, each one pointing to her core. Above her heart is a red sun, a mark of her Sunless curse. On her right arm she has a rose dripping blood that form its vines, a mark from the Blood Rose curse. On her back upper right shoulder she has a scarification of the Mark of Pain. On her right thigh is a blue and black mark in the shape of a star, the mark of the Curse of the Sleepless.

Special abilities

Ashley's various abilities come from her heritage as a vampire and her various curses. That said, it is worth nothing that she was born with a very exceptional sense of smell, which has only become more powerful as she was Turned.

Nowadays, Ashley likes to wear black and red. She also has gained a fondness for the color gold. She vastly prefers wearing pants, shirts, and a jacket, as she isn't really bothered by the ambient temperature. Regardless, she will always wear something that will cover everything but her face and hands when not alone - she doesn't want anyone seeing her curse marks.

Ashley has a lot of experience using all sorts of weapons. Her preferred weapon is the knife, but she can handle a semi-automatic rifle with ease.

Personal history

Ashley was born Ines Simondotter. Her biological mother, Tabea, was actually a servant to Simon who he raped at one point and who got pregnant with twins. While she - and everyone else - were told that she was another daughter from Hedwig (Simon's wife) she was practically raised by her biological mother. Hedwig was not exactly eager to raise another woman's child however. Finally, her half-brother Eduard had no interest in his sisters, thinking them lesser because they were women. Their father would regularly beat them for the trouble they caused by existing. As a man trying very hard to raise himself up in the world, he saw his two daughters as a symbol of his failure.
The only person they could really rely on was Tabea, who was sweet and kind to them. She did her best to give them as good a life as she could, but she got pregnant again. This time, Simon would have none of it, and he stabbed her and threw her into the local well. Everyone in the city didn't seem to care at all.
This meant that Ines and Elise really only had each other to rely on from that point on. Elise was fragile, so Ines grew to protect her. The two were very much attached to each other, until their father had them separated by marrying Elise off to a local noble to help secure his power. In despair, Ines tried to escape but was captured the next town over and sent back to her father. For two years, her father had her locked in a room where the door would only open to give her a plate of food every once in a while or for men to come in and examine her. These were the worst two years of her life. Eventually, a man found her acceptable and at the age of 16 she was to be married away to him. As proof of his capacity to manage her, her husband-to-be raped her. Ashley fought back, biting a chunk of his ear off and managing to escape again, this time into the cold German winter. Angry and seething with rage, she made it about two miles out of town before passing out.
As she lay there n the snow, a man approached her. He pointed out to her that she was going to die, and offered her a deal. If she would serve him, body, mind, and soul, he would give her a second chance at life and a chance to get revenge. Ines accepted without hesitation. The man, calling himself Dan, gave her another gift - a mark that freed her from pain.
The next four years of her life, Ines was trained in physical combat by a martial master. She worked hard, and learned fast. After she had acquired her mastery, she went back to her home village. She was immediately captured and sent to her fiancee, the plan being to wed them the next day - they had been waiting. Ashley played along for a while. The next day, the entire village was gathered together, and Ashley was brought to be married. Instead, she locked the doors of the church and murdered everyone inside in a blood rage.
She regretted this almost immediately afterword. Not only had her sister been in attendance, but her father had placed curses on her immediate family. For everyone she killed, a new terror was put upon her. She hadn't come to realize the effects until she couldn't stop herself from cannibalizing the corpses. One of the curses she had received made her impulsively violent and angry, especially towards the ones she cared about.
The next 100 years of Ashley's life saw her murdering, pillaging, and even raping as the curse more or less took control of her. By all rights it should have killed her, but she endured. She was called the Red Wraith, appearing at random and slaughtering and draining entire villages.
She only stopped when Dan caught her and knocked some sense into her. He was unable to remove the curses, but he was able to at least keep her on a leash. During this time, Ashley became known as the Rose Thief. As Dan and her traveled, she would occasionally lose control and murder an entire family, and take their daughters as play things.
By the 1800s, Ashley couldn't really afford to misbehave. At one point she was captured by German police who tortured her for 4 years until she managed to escape, and she decided to cool off. Especially because Dan hadn't come to save her, mostly because he thought it was appropriate punishment. While she still went about and horrible things, they were far less frequent. She spent most of her time wanting to be left alone, and this is where her first regrets started to appear, especially in regards to being Dan's bodyguard.
That's how things were up until the 1910s, when World War 1 broke out. Ashley found herself wandering the battlefields occasionally to consume the dead, and was called the bloody ghost by the few people who managed to spot her. That's how things were, up until 1923. The Thule Society managed to track her down, showing evidence of her previous actions and saying she could either work with them, or die. Ashley decided it might be a good place to her frustrations out, although it quickly became evident that the ideology of the Nazi party was not something she would ever actually agree with. By that time, however, it was too late. Ashley continued working with the Nazis up until 1939 as part of their Project Orlock, a secret government project to create an army of vampires that could be easily controlled on the battlefield. The project was considered a failure for how little progress it was making, and the final nail in the coffin was when Ashley released a large number of the prisoners after finally seeing an opportunity to escape. She promptly left Germany for the states, planning never to return to that wretched place. Perhaps she could make a new life for herself.
In the process of working there, Ashely had met a woman named Katie Kroswicka with whom she became infatuated. She had admired her resolve in the face of the terrible things they both faced, and at first tried to befriend her, but her curse still bit away at her, making her hurt and attack Katie whenever they met. By the 1980s, Ashley decided Katie was better off without her, and more or less shoved herself in the basement of her house. Unable to die, and unwilling to really live, all she did was read books, paint and occasionally sneak out to get food.
It was one fateful night when she was out on such a hunt that a news reporter became her target, and stood up for herself. Impressed by her chutzpah, Ashley made an agreement with her. She would serve as an undercover agent, gathering whatever data the journalist needed, and the journalist would act as a steady source of blood for her. Ashley would still occasionally go out for midnight walks, but those were much less. She rarely let the house unless Dan ordered her to.

Mental Trauma

Ashley has a lot of mental trauma from her life. However, instead of reacting to these things with fear or panic, she instead often responds with vivid and irreconcilable anger and violence. While Ashley has managed to control herself to an extent these past few decades, seeing someone abuse their child will usually cause her to lash out and kill them. She also despises misogyny, to the point where she is a misandrist. She has drowned a man for making a comment about how women can't be leaders because of their periods within the ast 10 years.

History

Katie and Ashley met in Project Orlock. Katie was tortured, and Ashley was often the one who did it, because she liked Katie. Katie did not exactly enjoy being tortured, and when the two of them eventually got together and escaped, she thought maybe Ashley was forced into doing the horrible things. That was not entirely accurate. Ashley, meanwhile, was utterly infatuated with Katie and her strength, and wanted to spend more time with her, but she was unable to overcome the violent nature of her curse and began to harm Ashley on her own accord. She tried to explain it to Katie, but Katie did not care - she still hurt her. The two played cat and mouse ever since, with Katie being afraid of Ashley and Ashley wanting to be with Katie and then snapping.
