The Old Ink Pot Tavern
The Old Ink Pot Tavern, locally known as "The Ink Pot", is a small tavern and inn.
It was originally the location of the towns Writers Guild, where founding members would meet to share stories, read works, and to host lectures on writing and story-telling.
Purpose / Function
The building has been repurposed as a tavern with some sleeping space upstairs since the writers guild moved to their new location.
Twice a week, however, the writers guild still meet at the tavern and host talks and such.
History
Long ago this building was where the writers guild were formed. Informal gatherings of likeminded people would meet here to discuss writing, literature, and so on.
This ultimately led to the founding of the writers guild, who moved on to a more suitable location.
Old Pete took on the task of managing and running the tavern in his years of retirement from being a writer. He still makes an effort to encourage people to read whenever he can, and never starts the day without a book or two to read, as well as his notepad in case inspiration to write strikes.
