Genetics and Reproduction

All Gubru are born neuter, with white plumage. When reaching maturity, and if social rank permits, can compete socially for mating partners. Interested Partners continue to compete, until the final three form a stable triad, known as Suzerains.
The Suzerians continue to compete with each other in their chosen fields, each seeking to prove superior in leadership, judgement, planning. The three Suzerains represent the three major areas of Gubru government --"Religion" (Propriety), Bureaucracy (Cost & Caution), and Military (Rod and Talon). Further subgroupings/divisions are possible, as trends change.
The Suzerian whose policies are empirically demonstrated most successful will molt red and become a Queen (female). The remaining Suzerians will molt Blue or Yellow, becoming Princes (Male).
Royal Triads at different social levels, locations, etc are possible. Rank is indicated by intensity of color. Transformation and rank are hormonal controlled, communal (ie. not only via the triad), and unconscious.

Prefer temperate areas, low to moderate wind. Forested areas ideal.
