Staff of the Traveler

The Staff of the Traveler was carved from the chitinous leg of a mchezaji wa mchanga, or 'Sand Walker'. Though its physical components have long since cracked apart, it remains held together as a single, solid staff by purple, divine energies. Leather has been wrapped around the upper portion, where its user would theoretically hold onto it, and a number of baubles from past owners dangle from this. Much of the exposed surface of the staff is covered in carvings of various styles, also added over the centuries by the current wielders of the staff. Some are personal logs, the names of loved ones, or things as simple as 'property of X', but many more are purely decorative or have meanings that have been lost to time.

Significance

A divine creation for a wandering bard in ancient history, the staff has existed for millennia, aiding various wanderers, vagabonds, and storytellers walk the world in relative safely and engage with the people they meet. It has passed through many hands, and is currently in the possession of human mage by the name of Dale.
